Manipulating data on a chart

About Filters & Crosstabs

Unlocking insights from your survey data is essential for understanding your results thoroughly. The Potloc Platform offers two powerful features to help you achieve this: filters and cross-tabulations.

Filters: Segment Your Data

With the Filter feature, you can segment your data into specific groups based on chosen criteria. Unlike the Global Filter, which affects the entire dataset, this filter applies only to a specific chart, allowing you to focus your analysis without impacting other visualizations.

Cross variables: Analyze Your Data

Crossing your dataset by different variables allows you to examine responses from specific segments of your sample to test hypotheses, identify significant differences or relationships between variables.

For example, applying the Age question as a crosstab enables easy comparison of responses across different age ranges.

When you use crosstabs, significance tests are automatically conducted, highlighting results that differ significantly among the applied cross-variable. This foundational analysis can be extended through Double Crossing or Breakdown, providing deeper insights.

Keep Base in Mind

Understanding the base of your chart is crucial because it determines the context and relevance of the data being analyzed, ensuring that your insights are accurate and meaningful. While the Crosstab feature does not alter the base, applying a filter will modify it by displaying only a subset of the results. Ensure your analysis reflects this adjustment.

Explore Your Data

Manipulating your data and experimenting with your charts are key benefits of using the Potloc Platform. Beyond just filtering and cross-tabulating results, you can also adapt the data visualization options, displayed items and cross your questions by 2 variables at once, to ensure you uncover every insight.
