Crosstab report
About Crosstabs
The Crosstab report allows you to cross-reference all your survey questions with a specific set of variables on a single page. This centralization enhances efficiency by allowing you to gather and analyze all relevant data in one place. Typically, the crosstab is organized as follows:
- Columns: Socio-demographic variables
- Rows: Questions from your survey
This report is compatible with all question types, including matrix and NPS questions, making it a versatile tool for in-depth data analysis.
The Crosstab Report offers the same features as other charts in the Detailed Results section, including significance testing, the ability to apply weighting, and the option to export the report to Excel.
Creating a Crosstab Report
- Navigate to the Results tab, and click on Crosstabs nav item.
- Customize your crosstabs by selecting the questions and variables you want to add to your rows and columns from the list. Then start populating your crosstabs.
- Look at the significant differences in the data by the mean or each individual value.
Statistical tests
The Crosstab report uses two different statistical tests:
Chi-squared test or (χ² test) or Chi-square test of independence
That allows us to determine whether two qualitative questions are independent or not. In other words, it helps us assess whether the responses to one question are influenced by the responses to another.
Z-test (similar to Student test)The z-test allows us to compare either “observed and theoretical frequencies” or “2 observed frequencies”…
- The One-Sample z-test is used when we want to compare a proportion observed in a sample with the proportion in the entire population.
- The Two Sample z-test is conducted when we aim to compare the proportions between two independent samples.
